Belegt ist erst eine Aufführung im Londoner Globe Theatre am 20. April 1611, doch uraufgeführt wurde die fünfaktige Tragödie in Vers und Prosa, die in der Folio-Ausgabe unter dem Titel The Tragedie of Macbeth (Die Tragödie von Macbeth ) erstmals gedruckt wurde, vermutlich im Sommer 1606 am Hof Jakobs I. Die deutsche Erstaufführung fand in Biberach 1771 statt. |
