Gegründet 1954. Hervorgegangen aus der "Biologischen Zentralanstalt für Land- und Forstwirtschaft <Berlin, West>". Bundesanstalt mit zwei Sitzen: Hauptsitz in Braunschweig, Nebensitz in Berlin; verschiedene Außenstellen (u.a. 1991 Eingliederung der Außenstelle Kleinmachnow). 2008 aufgelöst: Die "Biologische Bundesanstalt für Land- und Forstwirtschaft" und die "Bundesanstalt für Züchtungsforschung an Kulturpflanzen" wurden 2008 mit Teilen der "Bundesforschungsanstalt für Landwirtschaft" zusammengeführt und in "Julius Kühn-Institut, Bundesforschungsinstitut für Kulturpflanzen" umbenannt. |
